Welcome Kid Pharaoh to the family

Egyptian-Australian rapper Kid Pharaoh is back with his aggressive delivery & sharp lyricism as he unleashes his latest track ‘Burn The House Down’ out today via Farmer & The Owl / BMG – listen to the track here.

Fuelled by frantic drum’n’bass rhythms and rapid-fire delivery, Kid Pharaoh’s ‘Burn The House Down’ is a furious riot-ready anthem for the modern day. Absent hope causes an exploding rage to ensue, presenting the voice of an infuriated subject at their wits’ end scrambling for unknown answers.

To coincide with the release, he has delivered up the thrashing and fiery brand-new clip. Engulfed in raging flames and twisted figments, Kid Pharaoh’s ‘Burn The House Down’ visual is the maniacal companion piece that equals the single’s blazing form. Directed & edited by Kid Pharaoh, ‘Burn The House Down’ delivers an array of cinematic homages with a vintage Hype Williams-esque rap demeanour.

Today he has also shared the news that he has signed to tastemaker indie label Farmer & The Owl, Kid Pharaoh says on the signing, “I’m very happy to be making this next step in my career with the Farmer & The Owl team. Their work has been at the forefront of music in the local area and I’m looking forward to adding my own element to an ever-progressing melting pot of talent. I’m eagerly seizing the opportunity to break down barriers and present a fusion of genres divergent to the local norm – all while challenging perceptions of what a rap artist can do.”

The Farmer & The Owl team adding, “We’re so excited to have signed Kid Pharaoh. He’s one of the most interesting acts to come out of Wollongong in a while & we’re really excited to see where the project goes. Stylistically in the last couple of years some interesting new artists totally different to what the local scene has typically produced have begun to emerge and as we’ve dug into each of them, Kid Pharaoh’s fingerprints have been in there somewhere as a producer, collaborator, or feature artist. As such a talented songwriter and producer, the sky’s the limit with where his music can go.”

‘Burn The House Down’ follows on from previous hard-hitting tracks ‘Jesus Looks Like Me’, ‘Gold In My Veins’ & 2020 collaborative track ‘Don’t Let Them In’ teaming up with Sydney rapper BLESSED, all of which have garnered praise from triple j, Unearthed & Complex.
A conceptually rich and powerful rapper providing a unique voice for an underrepresented Arabic community turned heads immediately – landing Pharaoh spots on the Yours & Owls Festival stage, triple j Unearthed Spotlight Artist status and support slots for international artists as LA’s Duckwrth.

The mind behind every song, the writer of every lyric and the director of every video; Kid Pharaoh’s creative force is one that continues to defy expectations at every turn. ‘Burn The House Down’ is just the first taste of what to expect from future Kid Pharaoh.
