The Pinheads unveil new single & video 'New Love Dawn'

The Pinheads have come through with the goods today, as they unveil their new single & video, titled ‘New Love Dawn’. This is the first offering of new music from the six, who released their sophomore album ‘Is This Real’ in 2019.

There was a time in early 2020 when an amber haze clogged the skies for weeks on end and there were whispers of a virus threatening humanity. After some down time over this peculiar & challenging summer, The Pinheads regrouped at their home base, which they call ‘The Shed’ on the Coal Coast, and embarked on recording new music together.

With each day seemingly becoming more of an apocalyptic shit show, the band wrote ‘New Love Dawn’, a visceral danse macabre, a reawakening, longing for transcendence in the face of these curious happenings. The track was recorded & mixed by singer Jez Player, and mastered by Joe Carra at Crystal (Courtney Barnett, King Gizzard, Bloc Party, Amyl & The Sniffers). Speaking of the track, The Pinheads put it simply, “why not boogie your way out of a year that should be forgotten fast?”

Fans of the band have been doubly blessed this week, as The Pinheads are set to embark on an electric co-headline tour with Body Type, hitting up Brisbane, Burleigh Heads, Sydney & Wombarra over the coming two weeks.

The tour kicks off in Brisbane at West Room on Fri 26 March, with support from Perve Endings, then moves onto Burleigh Heads at the Burleigh Bazaar on Sat 27 March, with Perve Endings as main support and Love Banana also joining the bill. The next weekend sees both bands play to home towns, taking over the Paddo RSL on Sat 3 April with Display Homes coming along for the ride, and then finishing up at Wombarra Bowlo on Sun 4 April, joined by Sweetie.
