The Pinheads release cover of 'Pump It Up' - The first track to drop from Farmer & The Owl's upcoming compilation 'Family Values'

Today, The Pinheads reveal their cover of ‘Pump It Up’, their first offering of new music since the release of their second album ‘Is This Real’ in May 2019.
The six-piece, who arose from friendships based on the Coal Coast, have recorded their take on the classic by Elvis Costello & The Attractions, infusing the track with a Pinheads garage-rock treatment.
Speaking of the of the origins of the cover, The Pinheads have said, “during the initial few weeks of lock down, we recorded the cover. Due to lockdown and travel restrictions, parts of the song were recorded remotely, interstate and in closets. This is the first cover we have recorded in a number of years, and was recorded and mix by singer Jez Player.”
‘Pump It Up’ is the first track to be revealed from Farmer & The Owl’s new compilation, titled ‘Family Values’, which arose out of a desire to maintain a feeling of connectedness within the label, whilst the world and Australia were going into lockdown in late March / early April.
Jeb Taylor, co-founder of Farmer & The Owl, says it was “inspired by some of the incredible record labels around the globe and the communities they build, Family Values has been an idea we've had kicking around for a while that kicked into gear when the covid lock down took place. We realised we had a bunch of tracks from our label artists and close friends that had either had very limited releases or were totally unreleased and it would be a great way to showcase these to the world. Incredible local artist Chris Zanko adapted one of his distinctive artworks for the cover and we assembled a double record full of tracks from Hockey Dad, Bad//Dreems, Bec Sandridge, The Pinheads, TEES, Obscura Hail, Tumbleweed and more.
The compilation is set for release on Sept 25, with a new track dropping every week in the lead in to release. The artwork for the compilation was created by award winning artist Christopher Zanko.
The double LP is available to pre order now, on a black vinyl, limited blue & orange splatter vinyl, or as part of a bundle.
