Carla Geneve is a singer-songwriter based in Perth WA. Previously from a strong folk influence and background, the 19-year-old Albany-born musician’s captivating live show, relatable lyricism and shift of dynamic into alt-rock territory saw her burst onto the WA scene in 2017.
After being hailed by Pilerats as one of ’18 Artists to Watch in 2018’, her debut single ‘Greg’s Discount Chemist’ was released to an overwhelming response including 230,000+ streams on Spotify, becoming Triple J Unearthed’s Feature Artist, the single being added to rotation on Triple J and community radio, prominent playlist spots on Spotify & Apple Music, praise from artists such as Courtney Barnett & San Cisco, stand out performances at festivals such as Falls Festival and Groovin’ The Moo among others and supporting artists such as Belle & Sebastien, Jen Cloher, Stella Donnelly, Gomez and many more.
Her second single ‘Listening’ was released in June accompanied by a debut national tour in July with packed rooms in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth as well as dates supporting Lord Huron (USA) for their Splendour In The Grass sideshows. Geneve was also praised across the board for her performances at Bigsound praised as one of the stand out acts of the conference by outlets such as Triple J & The Music. She will play a number of prestigious festivals in November including Fairgrounds Festival & Queenscliff Festival and also took the lead with seven nominations for the 2018 WAM Awards including Most Popular Act, Best Single and more.
2019 will see the release of her debut as-of-yet titled EP as well as extensive national touring, further solidifying Carla Geneve as one of the most exciting up and coming Australian artists.
